The MSSM.EDU Office 365 migration with Intune follows Mount Sinai's previous institutional privacy policies regarding email and mobile device management. MSHS Office 365 is fully HIPAA compliant and built to support the latest cyber security protocols.
Your mobile phone number:
For MSHS-owned mobile devices, your full phone number can be seen by the Intune app.
For personal-owned devices, just the last four digits of your phone number are visible to the Intune app.
Mount Sinai devices and storage management:
The Intune app may review your device's storage capacity to determine if space is too low and provide an alert.
Your device location:
For MSHS-owned devices, the Intune can app see the location of a lost device.
For personal-owned devices, Intune can "never" see the device location, unless a request is made to MSHS IT Security. By default the “Lost Mode” mode is set to off on all “Personal” devices, no device location information is sent to Intune.
Your Apps on your device:
For personal-owned devices, MSHS can only see your managed app inventory
For MSHS-owned devices, MSHS can see the complete app inventory
The Intune app can never see (both owned and non-owned devices):

See the location of a personal device
Note: Users are not required to install "Intune/Company Portal" to access MSSM.EDU email as long as they login into the Office 365 Web portal and use two factor authentication.
