In 2021, Mount Sinai Information Technology Services upgraded our legacy Microsoft Exchange system to the latest Office 365 suite of tools for all MSSM.EDU staff and faculty. AirWatch Mobile Device Manager (MDM) for iOS devices was upgraded to Microsoft Intune including School purchased laptops & desktops, providing increased security and licensed access to Office 365 both locally and off-campus.


Other key benefits of the Office 365 ISMMS Community Migration include:


  • Entire Microsoft Office 365 Suite licensed for ISMMS staff/faculty for both on and off-campus usage

  • Cloud-based, HIPAA compliant and secure end-to-end encryption

  • Full support for Macintosh OS/iOS/Android/Windows10 devices

  • Modern & responsive email, calendar, and collaboration tools

  • Microsoft Teams collaboration across the Mount Sinai Health System

  • Instant & secure access to email/calendar off-campus leveraging Microsoft Intune

  • Ability to install Microsoft iOS apps on school mobile devices

  • Increased data storage quotas up to 100 Gb

  • New productivity tools such as Microsoft OneDrive & OneNote


*Note that ISMMS Student and Alumni accounts will not be migrated to Office 365 and will continue to use Google Apps for Education which has similar functionalities.


Box to OneDrive Migration


In the months of January through April 2023, Mount Sinai Digital Technology & Partners (DTP) will be sending email broadcasts and contacting School departments directly regarding the logistics for MSSM.EDU Box.com account migrations to Microsoft OneDrive. We have also partnered with the vendor, Cognizant to support our migration efforts and they will be contacting eligible MSSM.EDU users from the email address: IcahnBoxMigration@mssm.edu.
